Thank you James for my lessons, once again proving invaluable. As well as fantastic fun XC clinics which have really taught me a lot you’ve really helped me get to grips with the flat work and we won the unaffiliated Sheepgate Dressage championship a couple of weekends ago! The first lesson I had with James, I had a difficult youngster who I struggled to get round a BE90. Since training with him, he has given me much more knowledge and understanding in the way I ride and look after my horses, helping me really gain a partnership with all of them. I am now competing at BE Novice level and BD Elementary with the horse I struggled with, and James has helped me achieve this with my other horses too. I owe everything to James as without him and his patience I wouldn't be achieving any of this. I couldn't be without him!

James is the best instructor I have come across.  He has been fantastic at helping me deal with my nerves, never once making me feel stupid but at the same time always managing to push me a little bit further every time I see him.  What makes James stand out from other instructors is his ability to change his teaching style to suit the pupil, he teaches my husband and myself and approaches both lessons in a completely different way - something that is entirely appropriate and ensures we both get an enormous amount of our lessons.  That combined with his willingness to jump on your horse and show you what he wants, with a hands on approach to teaching, means that I would recommend James to anyone at any level of riding.  Karen Thompson

 

Training with James has given me and my two horses so much confidence, we now look forward to competing in Dressage and BE events.  His technical experience at improving my horses way of going and jumping has been invaluable.  And at last my horses and I are getting good results.  Three top ten placings in my mare's last three events and a 70% dressage test!!!  Emily Graham

 

I think James Arkley is the mutts nuts!!!! He has turned my horse into a superstar......I love him!!!!! I have a lesson with him most wednesdays and he helps me with everything. I can also ask him all the silly questions that I worry about asking!! In the last year my knowledge of horses has quadrupled and I owe it all to him (and his other half). I cant recommend him highly enough and would trust him with any horse of mine!! I sound like he's paying me to write this but its all true....

James can help you acheive anything! I have had so many problems jumping my horse Titch and since tuition from James we have improved ten fold. James's understanding of Titch has encouraged me to get inside his head and think like I am in Titchs shoes. With James's help we have gone from dreading canter poles to being able to jump a water tray.
