James Arkley is a British Equine Veterinary Association (BEVA) and British Veterinary Dental Association (BVDA) Qualified Equine Dental Technician, a Member & Council Member (Chairman) of the British Association of Equine Dental Technicians (BAEDT).
James has over 25 years exposure of owning and working with horses. Previous experience includes backing and breaking of young stock, racing, competing and teaching (ex-military Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment and BHS AI instructor).
During James tenure in the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment, James was the Chief instructor of Officer Cadet training at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, Instructor for young horse development and one of the military equine instructors for the Defence Animal Centre.
James is experienced in British Eventing and was selected to ride in the Rural Riders British Event Team who competed at the European Championships to help achieve 2 Bronze medals for Great Britain.
Since leaving the Army James has run a successful Equine Dental business in Lincolnshire for the past 14 years.

When we relocated to the beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds in 2014 with the horses it was really exciting. But also a bit daunting finding a new support team for the horses including a new equine dentist. We needn’t have worried. We were lucky enough to have found James through research and reading lots of positive feedback from other clients and he has been looking after the horses ever since. James cannot be faulted for the way he treats the horses, for his knowledge, his expertise and the way he genuinely cares about each horse having the best possible teeth that they can. He is an essential part of our team and we would recommend him to anyone. What we really like is he treats each horse as an individual and really takes his time when he carries out his work. This is especially noticeable with our lovely veteran horse, who needs a few extra breaks during his treatments. There is never any fuss, James is very calm and patient and we feel very lucky to have him as our EDT.

Had a great ride on my mare after having a few problems with her head carriage and rein pressure but since having her teeth done she is so much happier and easier to ride no more head tossing or squiffing her head to the side and backing off the contact really pleased thank you

Had James out to both my boys this evening and what a dream team they are! James was fantastic with Jack, so patient and gentle with him. I couldn't be happier with how the visit went and had such a laugh. Can't wait to have you out again and will definitely be booking to have those wolf teeth removed.
